Taking Action into Their Own Hands

There has been talk for years that eventually America's lax control of the Mexican-American border would come to a head. Well, that day is now upon us. The sparse border patrol has allowed millions of illegal aliens to cross into our country for years. These people have put a drain on the American economy, and after 9/11 could potentially entail a security risk. So instead of Americans sitting by and wishing something would be done, several men have done what Americans do best; fix the problem.

Recently a California man organized a volunteer border patrol in Arizona. From reports just being gathered, the illegal activity of migration across the border has been cut in half during the month that the volunteers were on duty. That does not mean that it was just a slow month, it means that the most porous border in the country was sealed up effectively. Mexicans that would normally try to cross were intimidated by the volunteer and the idea of being caught. The plan worked. But it hasn’t stopped there.

A recent news article detailed how Army Reservist, Sgt. Patrick Haab, witnessed several illegal aliens at a rest stop. Haab had to be upset that he would risk his life in Iraq only to arrive back and view individuals that have no business in our county to blatantly stroll around. The article calls them “undocumented workers”. Quit being so coy! They are in this county illegally, and therefore they are ILLEGAL ALIENS. Haab pulled his weapon on the illegal aliens, and held them until police arrived. And then they arrested him. A man sticks up for his country, twice, and ends up in prison. Another day that makes me sick.

I am not against people coming to this great country that we have. I only ask that they do it legally. My family came in through Ellis Island, as did I am sure many others family members of the readers of this site. Those individuals did it legally, and sought to not only increase their opportunities, but also help make American great. These illegal aliens are here to increase their opportunity and to send back money to their home county in order to help their “mother country”. That we do not need. So send us “your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send these, - the homeless, tempest-“, but please make sure they a documented and legal, that is all we ask.
